Dream Costs: Madrid to Valencia

It is known for its beaches, anyway...

Beautiful spots from a google search includes:

From: http://www.enforex.com/

Going to the renfe website revealed.
It costs 56.90 euros for the two of us. That makes PHP 3,442.45.

Still Achievable.

Dream Costs: Madrid to Toledo

I was able to visit Toledo twice. Generally, coz the first time we went there was an epic fail.

We're talking of missed buses and missed trains...

But it is a beautiful city and I want Jessie to see it too...

Here are some spots from a google search:

From: http://www.aidc2010.org/

Toledo is a small city so a day trip will do... We just have to plan it well..
Buses to Toledo can be reached through an autobuses station that is accesible by the Metro, Spain's subway.

According to this site, buses costs 4.25 euros so that makes 8.50 euros.

With BDO as a reference, 1 Euro = PHP 60.50

That costs PHP 514.25, which is achievable.

Add that to going back to Madrid costs, makes PHP 1028.50, still achievable

Dream Costs: Madrid to Sevilla

When I went to Spain, one of the places I missed to go is Seville. Some of the people from my group had that luxury and their pictures looked great.

Here are some sites from a google search:

Seems like a great destination.

So From Madrid, we could take a bus to Seville.

According to http://www.formatex.org, it would costs around 20 euros each

With BDO as a reference, 1 Euro = 60.5000. That means it costs PHP 1,210.00 each.

Over all, it costs PHP 2,420.

The Travel would take 8 hours though.. We have to sleep in the bus.

Since we'll also have to go back to Madrid, it will cost PHP 4,840.00

That is achievable!

Dream Costs: Sydney to Madrid

Given the goal to actually get married or at least legally binded, we would have to live in Australia so instead of Manila, we'll be coming from Australia.

Let's see the result of the mock booking.

The price came to AUD 9,190.12.

With BDO as a reference,  1 AUD = PHP 43.0800

That would mean, it is equivalent to PHP 395,910.00

Wow! Crazy amount though...

Maybe it is better to go through Manila first.

Yup. It is better.

Sydney to Manila is AUD 2,502.32. That makes PHP 107,801.24.

Add that to the one we got from Manila to Madrid.

That makes PHP 200,801.24.

Dream Costs: Manila to Madrid Airfare Another Option

When I was assigned to work in Castilla La Mancha, Spain, our group was assigned to ride Qatar Airways.

We passed by Doha and went to Madrid.

Using the same principle, I mocked booked from Manila, NAIA to Madrid, Spain.

Here is what I got:
The amount I got is USD 2045. Using the same exchange rate, the amount I need for the flight is PHP 92,025.

Still, WOW! I'm not even sure if they quoted the taxes here.

Dream Costs: Manila to Madrid Airfare

I have been posting to forums regarding travel...

When asked, where do you want to go?

My reply is Madrid, Spain. It is my favorite city in the world. During my short stint in Spain, I went to Madrid twice. Costly, yes but definitely worth it.

But as a dream to become reality, you have to put numbers connected to it.

So I begin with putting an amount to begin this trip.

I went to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines because I encountered this airline through email so given they have promos...

The flight I mock-booked is departing from Manila, NAIA. It passes by Amsterdam and lands in Madrid.

It amounted to USD 1,899.54. Given today's rate USD1 = PHP 45. The flight would cost PHP 85,479.30.

Wow! Hefty amount but it is achievable.

2018-2020: Revive a Masters Swimming Class Event

I had decided to learn to swim in 2008 by enrolling to Bert Lozada Swim School in Philippine Columbian Association in Paco, Manila. It was a great experience that this year, 2010, I decided to swim regularly.

It had become a fun hobby as I got to meet a lot of people and learn a lot from them.

Unfortunately, swim meets or swim competitions in the Philippines are limited to the young ones. If someone 25 and above watch to compete in a swimming event. They have to do biking and running to in the form of a triathlon. For someone who discovered swimming as a new passion at a late age of 23. I don't have an opportunity to compete for the fun of it kinda like doing a fun run at 5km, 10km or so.

At a pinoy forum, I asked the experienced swimmers if an event like a fun run for older swimmers. There is such a thing as a masters swimming class, pertaining to those at age 25 and above.

So I googled it, I found a masters swimming class event last year held in Laguna. But there isn't any new announcement in the organizer's werbsite so I want to revive such an event. Since this takes a lot of time and energy, I will do this when I retire from my 8 to 6 job.

Begin with the end in mind

This isn't a new quote.

In fact, it has been written in Stephen Covey's Book, 7 habits for the highly successful people.

But I quite recently, I had to re-learn it. I came to a seminar organized by Laurus Enterprises, the official organizer of Rich Dad events in the Philippines. It was one of those unplanned things. In fact, I wasn't really expecting anything. But the first part of the seminar really hit me.... The first step in achieving your dream is knowing what it is and how much it is worth. Then can you decide, how you can achieve it...

The whole seminar actually talked about other options to get what you want but not knowing exactly what I want hit me.... It is not about wanting ways to get it but knowing what I want and going for it's accomplishment.

SO if you want something, know what it is. Know how much it is worth and find a vehicle to get it.

2012-2017: Lead a Team

I have no great dreams of one day become a president of some other guys company.

I don't even consider being a project manager, a goal. The last position I want to hold in the corporate world is being a team leader. Having to manage subordinates tasks towards a bigger goal.

As of the moment that goal isn't far from reality but what I want to become is be good at it. I don't have people under me yet but when I do in a corporate setting my goal is directing the, in tasks that generally heads to a big direction. I want to be able to do it in a variety of industries and situations. When I have enough, the next step for me is retirement
